Please enter the tine diameter, the intra-tine distance and the tine depth that you want to apply and press the 'Calculate' button. Use the Wedge hollow tine simulator to make a calculation on the basis of the values entered by you. The tine diameter is the diameter of the tine selected by you. Please note that the tine code is based on the external diameter. During the processing the internal diameter is what counts. As a rule, reduce the external diameter by 1 size to obtain the internal diameter. Example: a hollow tine with an external diameter of 5/8 inch has an internal diameter of 1/2 inch and a hollow tine of 3/4 inch is actually 5/8 inch. When taking this into account, the result of the calculation will be closer to the one required. (The intra-tine distance is the heart-to-heart distance of the tines.) The processing depth is the inserting depth adjusted. Please take into account that normally not all the material will be removed from the pitch. A small percentage will be pressed to the bottom of the hole. This amount depends on the type and diameter of the hollow tine used. The percentage to be removed can also be entered. Example: if you want to remove 20% of the pitch a year, enter 20%. In the USA, research has shown that approx. 15 to 20% must be removed yearly during regular maintenance. If you have a backlog, the percentage must be increased. We hope that this interactive hollow tine simulator is of use to you! |
